  • On 24 April 2023, members of the Philippine diplomatic corps, representatives of sister UN agencies and other partners gathered in the Regional Office for a high-level event to mark WHO's 75th birthday. It served as the perfect occasion to reflect on the Region’s public health successes and the contributions that WHO has made to global health over the past 75 years. In 1948, countries of the world came together and founded WHO to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable – so everyone, everywhere can attain the highest level of health and well-being.  WHO’s 75th anniversary year is an opportunity to look back at public health successes that have improved quality of life during the last seven decades.
